UPDATE 08/12/2016:
A message from Linda Whitby – A huge thank you to everyone who supported us to put forward a strong defence against Hyde Homes last week. They were appealing against the decision by BHCC to refuse planning permission on the field that was once designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We mounted a vigorous defence supported by Mary Mears, the Saltdean Residents Association and Rottingdean Parish Council – and readers of the Saltdean Zone! We have to wait until at least mid-January for the final decision, so watch this space ……

November 2016 update: A three day public inquiry about this development will be held at Brighton Town Hall – starting  at 10am on the 29th November 2016.

Original post:

Linda Whitby has contacted The Saltdean Zone about her campaign to employ a Planning Consultant.

‘Developers are appealing against Brighton & Hove City Council’s decision to refuse planning permission for 32 houses on a field that was designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The developers can afford to retain a top London barrister to overturn this decision. We need to fight them, and while we can’t afford a Barrister, we hope to retain a Planning Consultant to consolidate and present our case at the public inquiry on November 29th.’
