This undated Averys postcard shows Saltdean before any housing! Though it states it is the Cliffs at Telscombe you can clearly see the distinctive Saltdean cliff shape and dip. If you pan in you can see a curious pointed tent shaped structure on the cliff top, other than that there is not a building in sight. There are also telegraph poles but (unless amazingly hidden) there appears to be no Coast Guard Cottages yet. We would suggest this image was captured somewhere between the early 1900s to early 1920s, no traffic problems then it would appear!
