Make a noise with us
Earthquake Drummers are looking for new members – anybody from age 7 upwards is welcome and previous experience is definitely not required.
Julie Vaughan established the Earthquake Drummers 3 years ago. Previously a nurse, she is now a foster carer – a vibrant member of the community and a passionate advocate of the group:
“If you want to hit a drum come along – We can teach anyone to drum
We’re not a serious group – we have a laugh and make lovely music.
What better way to end your week than making a noise with us?.”
The drummers perform at a variety of local events – most recently at the ‘Defend the NHS’ march in Brighton. Their list of upcoming performances include ‘Pride’ in Brighton, ‘Chiddfest’ in Chiddingly, ‘Alfriston Faerie Festival’, Burgess Hill and Neville Bonfires, ‘Stix Summer Madness’, South Heighton Bonfire Fete, the Lifeboat Fete, and the ‘Steampunk Festival’ in Eastbourne.
“Come and have a go – the first week is free so you can see if you like it”
The Earthquake Drummers is a drumming collective which meets on Fridays from 6.30pm to 8pm at the hut on Lewes Road Rec behind the ‘Jolly Boatman’ in Newhaven. The fee is a £1 a week which includes free tea and snacks prepared by the group.
